Date of birth
25-year old Piero established his reputation as one of the finest right-sided midfielders in League Two whilst with Accrington Stanley, prior to his summer 2016 move to the U’s.
An academy player with Watford from the age of 13, he made a first-team debut during January 2013 when the Hornets faced Hartlepool in an FA Cup tie, also scoring with a fine 25-yard strike to seal the tie. This fleet-footed winger progressed to make seven appearances at Vicarage Road, whilst also spending time on loan with Brentford, Hayes & Yeading and Boreham Wood. He eventually signed for Accrington in June 2013 following a temporary stint at the Wham Stadium. Piero helped Stanley to the Play-offs at the end of the 2015/16 campaign, netting a superb goal against AFC Wimbledon in the semi-final before opting for a new challenge this season. He scored 15 times in 144 appearances whilst at Accrington but, having signed a two-year deal at the Cambs Glass Stadium, is now enjoying the next stage in his career. Piero scored on his debut for United in the opening day draw with Barnet, netting a second goal during the EFL Cup victory over Sheffield Wednesday three days later.
