Will Norris

Date of birth

Youngster Will was plucked from local side Royston Town in July 2012.

The left-footed stopper played over 40 times during the 2011/12 season as the Hertfordshire club sealed a South Midlands Premier Division league and cup double. Will spent the 2012/13 campaign on loan with his former side, whilst enjoying a further month with the Crows the following year.

He returned to the Cambs Glass Stadium in January 2014, made his first team bow and kept an impressive clean sheet in a 1-0 win at Tamworth, which marked the start of a lengthy spell as first-choice goalkeeper as the U’s gained promotion back to the Football League.

Subsequently despatched on a long-term loan deal to National League outfit Braintree in August 2015, he shut out the opposition on an eye-catching twelve occasions whilst at the Avanti Stadium.

Also named divisional Player of the Month for October, he was recalled by Shaun Derry prior to the U’s away fixture with Crawley in January and immediately reclaimed the number one shirt, keeping a further ten clean sheets before the end of the campaign. A huge talent, Will penned an extension to his contract last June, which will keep him at United until the summer of 2019.
