Leicester-born George agreed a permanent transfer from Mansfield Town during the summer after three separate loan spells at the Abbey Stadium.
Aged 25, he began his career with Leicester City, who subsequently loaned him to Kettering Town, York City and Swedish First Division outfit Karlstad BK, boosting his match experience. George then sealed a move to Burton in 2014, where he played 35 times and won a League Two title winners medal. A ball-playing left-sided defender he had a 13-game temporary spell with the U’s at the beginning of the 2015/16 season, but injury unfortunately cut short his stay. George moved to the Stags in May 2016, but endured a lengthy stint on the sidelines ensued following a hamstring tear. He re-joined the U's at the beginning of last season, renewed that deal in January and subsequently formed an impressive central defensive partnership with Greg Taylor. He has signed a two-year deal with United.
