Ryan Bennett has signed a new contract with Cambridge United…
After originally signing for the Club on a short-term deal in January, Bennett has now committed to a new one-year contract with the U’s.
“It’s great to be back,” Bennett said. “I really enjoyed my football last season and felt like we made a lot of progress in the six months that I was here.
“There is a lot to like about the Club and so I am really happy to sign a new contract.
“I am looking forward to kicking on now and hopefully helping the team move forward next season.
Mark Bonner said, “Extending Ryan's stay with us was a big aim of mine at the end of last season, and I am delighted to see his time with us continue.
“I talked throughout the second half of last season about him being a player you can rely on, about having high standards and being low maintenance. These are only a few of his qualities.
“Clearly a player of excellent experience, we all saw and felt his impact in the team last season and I am sure everyone will see this as another strong addition to the team we are building.
“Ryan still has plenty to offer and his presence will help us consistently find our best levels, as well as improve the players around him.
“We still have plenty of work to do to the squad, but with the strong and experienced additions we have made at the back end of the pitch, we have a good foundation to build from.
“I look forward to continuing the process of strengthening the squad throughout the remainder of the transfer window.”
