Matchday Guide: Cambridge Utd vs Sunderland AFC

26 November 2021

  • Sell Out

Saturday's match is a complete sell-out with no tickets available in either the home or away end. Please do not travel to the Abbey Stadium if you don't already have a ticket.

  • Match Sponsor…

Thanks to Saturday’s Match Sponsor, Movolytics. Movolytics are an international provider of fleet management software solutions with headquarters in Cambourne, Cambridge. The United Kit Van is kitted out with Movolytics hardware to monitor its journeys around the country and help reduce fuel costs.

  • Match Ball Sponsor...

The Match Ball sponsor for Saturday's game is in memory of Ian Clenahan. Ian was born in September 1949 in Sunderland and was a lifetime Sunderland fan. Memories of Roker Park, watching Porterfield’s winner in the 1973 FA cup final, were always topics of conversation in the pub.

Relocating to Cherry Hinton and then Bar Hill in the 90s, Ian adopted Cambridge United as his second team. His passion and love for football was a key defining attribute and whilst Cambridge did not emulate Sunderland’s success at Wembley in the 2007 or 2008 conference playoff finals, family and friends here today celebrating his life will recall the atmosphere and excitement in the Globe pub and at the ground.

As a proud Mackem, with a strong affection to Cambridge United, he would have been torn where to sit today but would have loved to see the two teams play and enjoyed a beer after the game.

  • Rainbow Laces LGBTQ+ Fixture

This Saturday's game against Sunderland represents our LGBTQ+ Matchday as we show our support for Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign.
