COVID-19 SAFETY GUIDANCE FOR FANS

15 December 2020

Cambridge United have provided the following guide to supporters, so the Amber Army can play their part in making the return to the Abbey as safe and successful as possible.

The majority of supporters attending the fixture will have been sent a code of conduct via email, which has been attached in the terms and conditions of the e-ticket. For those who haven't please read by clicking here now.

By attending, supporters are also confirming that they are not displaying any symptoms of Covid-19, do not live in a tier 3 area and have not tested positive for Covid-19 within the last 14 days.

KEY INFORMATION

WEAR A FACE COVERING

Everyone entering the Abbey Stadium will be required to wear a face covering, once within the ground. As per government guidance Children under 11 are not required to, but we recommend wearing all children  wear a face covering where possible.

Entering the Ground

Please arrive in good time, observe a two metre distance wherever possible, or one metre plus, from fellow supporters who are not in your social bubble whilst queuing, and have your e-ticket ready to be scanned by the turnstile operators. Screens have been put in place in the turnstiles.

When entering the ground we encourage supporters to refrain from using their hands to move through the turnstiles, but instead nudge the turnstiles open with their body.

Once through the turnstiles, please follow the red arrows on the floor which clearly indicate which direction you should take when making your way into your respective stand. The arrows have been marked out a suitable distance apart to maintain social distancing.

Terraces

Please be aware of maintaining your social distance from supporters who are not in your social bubble when in place within the terrace.

Use the red arrows on the floor to enter the terrace in the correct direction. When walking up gangways to enter the terrace, please continue to social distance and avoid face to face brush pasts with other supporters. The Club have marked out on the floor in white paint, "pass areas" for fans to stand in to allows other to pass, if there is traffic in a gangway, which will allow fans to maintain their social distance.

At the end of the match, it is VERY important supporters please stay in place and await further instruction from the stewards who will allow supporters to filter out in an organised manner.

Seated Stands

Once through the turnstiles, use the red arrows on the floor to make your way into the stand in the correct direction.

Please sit in the seat attributed to your e-ticket. When taking bookings, the Club have already put all the protocols in place for those seated, so it is imperative supporters sit in the correct seats so that social distancing between bubbles can be maintained. Stewards will be there to help you find your seats.

During the game, please remain seated where possible.

At the end of the match, supporters are asked to please remain in their seats and await instruction from stewards who will filter out supporters in a suitable and safe manner.

Toilets

The Football Club have arranged for portaloos to be put in place right across the stadium. The toilets in the Mead Plant & Grab Stand will be open and monitored by stewards to allow two fans in and out at a time. When departing a stand to go to the toilet, please avoid face to face contacts with supporters from outside of your social bubble, use the red arrows on the floor to depart the stand in the correct direction and please observe social distancing when queueing for the toilet. When re-entering the stand, please once again use the red arrows on the floor to enter the stand in the right direction.

Catering

Outdoor catering facilities will be available for supporters to purchase hot and cold foot and drink. Please continue to observe social distancing whilst queueing, and ensure you use the red arrows on the floor to travel in the correct direction to and from any catering unit. All indoor hospitality rooms and bars will be closed.

Litter

The groundstaff have gone to extra lengths to put in place additional bins right across the stadium. Cambridge United kindly asks supporters to use the bins rather than dispose of litter on the floor. This limits the cleaning process and will allow the groundstaff to quickly move on to preparing the Abbey for Saturday.

Cambridge United's stewards will be there to help supporters, with any queries regarding the social distancing protocols in place for today's fixture.
