PAUL BARRY ASSUMES OWNERSHIP OF CAMBRIDGE UNITED

2 October 2019

The Board confirmed today that Paul Barry has taken full ownership of Cambridge United FC. The proposal received the active support from all former major shareholders, including Cambridge Fans United. It has also now been approved by The EFL.

Shaun Grady, Chairman of the Board, said:

“This is an important moment for Cambridge United and a positive step forward. It provides the Club not only with financial security but also means ownership is in the hands of a lifelong fan. We are all very grateful to Paul for his support going back many years and his renewed commitment to the Club for the future. We also recognise and appreciate the support for the proposal from right across the shareholder and fan base. It means we can now all look forward as a Club with financial security off the pitch and, coupled with Colin Calderwood agreeing to extend his contract, further stability and hopefully more success on the pitch.”

Currently we are going through the process of paying shareholders the agreed sum for their shares. If any shareholder has not been contacted this may be because we have not been given up to date contact details. Anyone who believes they are due to receive a payment, and have not heard from the Club, should contact Club Secretary, Andy Beattie at andy.beattie@cambridge-united.co.uk.
