Cambridge United are pleased to announce the latest Academy fixture to be played at the Abbey Stadium, which will see the Under 15s take on Chelsea F.C. on Monday 15th April (K.O. 7:00pm).
Having beaten Manchester United 2-1 at the Abbey back in October, the U's Under 15 side are now set to face Chelsea for a third consecutive season. Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have all also visited the Abbey Stadium across the last three years, for what have proved to be highly popular evenings.
The Academy stadium games not only provide the young U's the chance to play high quality opposition on the first team pitch, but a chance for the Amber Army to watch the cream of United's Academy in action.
United fans have always provided tremendous support in recent years with attendances consistently been the 1,000 mark. The club are urging the U's faithful to once again give their backing to this year's crop of U15s.
Academy Manager, Tom Pell: "We're delighted to be facing Chelsea on the pitch at the Abbey once more, and I'm sure we can look forward to another exciting and eventful evening.
"The stadium games never fail to deliver in giving our young players a fantastic experience that they'll remember for a long time, as well as a brilliant opportunity for our magnificent supporters to get behind the older schoolboy players we have in a really competitive fixture.
"Our thanks to Chelsea and Jim Fraser in particular for agreeing to the match, and we hope to see as many supporters there on the night as possible to create another thriving atmosphere."
Tickets are once again priced at just £5 for adults and kids as always go free, and can be purchased online by clicking here and on the night at the ticket office.
