PROGRAMME PREVIEW | PLYMOUTH ARGYLE – LIAM O’NEIL

6 December 2019

Take a sneak peek at this weekend’s Amber Rambler and the player feature with U’s midfielder Liam O’Neil.

The Amber Rambler will be available to buy around the ground, from the CFU Van, and in the club shop for just £3. Tickets for tomorrow’s fixture are still available online here, and will also be available in the ticket office on match day until kick off at 3:00pm.

O’Neil reflects on the first half of the campaign with an element of frustration that the U’s have not been able to convert the opportunities to propel themselves further up the League Two ladder.

However, he remains positive that United can make the necessary amendments to display an improvement in the coming months and fire themselves up the division.

He said: “It has been frustrating overall this season because there have been performances where we have really shown what we are about, but then we haven’t found that consistency to do it regularly enough. There have been too many mediocre games. You can tell that by looking at the table.

“We need to develop a better ability to grind out or hold out for more results to improve on what we have done earlier in the season. I feel there have been too many games this season where we have come away feeling we have deserved more from them. We need to keep that concentration to get the job done at both ends of the pitch. The expected goals stats suggest we should be right up towards the top of the League.

“We can only put that right by putting in the good performances, continuing to create a lot of chances and putting them away. I’m confident that will come.

“If we can string a run together leading up to and over Christmas, that will put us within touching distance of the play-offs and anything can happen from there.”
