By his own admission, Jones has had to remain patient in the wait for a chance to show United fans what he is capable of doing during his time at the Abbey. However, the Bradford loanee is growing in confidence having taken his chance at Bury last week with his and gained further minutes at Mansfield last Saturday.
“I was really pleased to have got on the scoresheet, and obviously I have had to wait a little while to even get in the starting team. I was delighted to get that goal and move the side towards the three points on the night.
“When I came into the club on loan, there had been a long while that I had spent out with injuries and it’s taken me some time to get up to speed, which is only natural really.
“I knew it would take time, but it was good to get out there again for the team and that as many minutes as I’ve had in quite a while too, so that’s really pleasing.
“As a striker there are only ever really two places available on the pitch at times, depending on what formation the manager wants to play. I always believe in myself and am confident in my ability that when I get that chance I can take it.”
