LEGENDS TEA BARS | COULSON SECOND LEGEND VOTED FOR BY AMBER ARMY!

1 October 2018

Cambridge United are delighted to announce the second legend voted for by the Amber Army…there really is only one Josh Coulson!

Ahead of the 2018/19 season, the club opened up the opportunity for fans to vote and decide which three players from the U’s 106 year history deserved to have their contribution recognised with a small area of the Abbey Stadium.

In partnership with Mick George, the club is re-branding three of the catering units and tea bars located around the Abbey on a match day with the name of a former United player, as voted for by the U’s faithful.

Last week the club announced Paul Wanless as the first legend, with the King of the Abbey attending the Mansfield game to officially open ‘The Paul Wanless Bar’ at the end of the Main Stand.

Well having also featured over 300 times for United, 324 games to be exact, Josh Coulson now joins Wanless as the second legend from United’s history deemed worthy of a recognition at the Abbey by U’s fans.

Coulson first joined United as part of the youth scheme back in 2006, signed his first professional contract at the end of that season, before making his professional debut for his boyhood club against Halifax in 2007.

The centre-back went on to lift the FA Trophy at Wembley Stadium, become a key member of the team that achieved promotion in 2013/14, and featured in both Emirates FA Cup fixtures against Manchester United, becoming a fans favourite in the process. He departed the U’s earlier this year after a decade representing his hometown club.

Josh will be in attendance at tomorrow’s home game against Forest Green, to officially open “The Josh Coulson Bar”, located behind the Newmarket Road End.

The final legend selected by the Amber Army will be announced ahead of our next home league fixture against MK Dons on Saturday 13th October.

Thank you to every supporter who voted in the poll.
