Cambridge United are pleased to announce Jabo Ibehre will remain at the Abbey Stadium until at least the end of the 2018/19 season, after penning a one year contract extension with the Club.

The veteran striker has netted eight goals in 31 appearances for the U’s since initially signing at the Abbey last summer.

His career tally of appearances now stacks up at a staggering 635 professional games in which he has scored 132 times, and it’s this experience that the U’s will continue to enjoy the benefit of both on and off the field once again next season.

Pleased to be extending his time with the U’s, Ibehre said: “Massive thanks to everyone at Cambridge United and to all of the supporters for their continued support.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time at the Abbey so far, and it’s been great to feel that support every time that I’ve been out there.

“I’m delighted to sign for another year and look forward to finishing as high as we can in the League next season.”

Meanwhile Head of Football, Ben Strang added: “It’s probably fair to say that Jabo’s season has been a little stop-start, however he has still made a big impression on everyone in his year at the club.

“We firmly believe that Jabo will provide a significant contribution and build on a solid first season with us to become an integral part of the team.

“Having worked previously with Joe at Colchester their relationship is particularly strong, which is important in providing clarity on exactly what is expected of Jabo in our style of play.”
