Cambridge United Community Trust CEO, Ben Szreter, commented: "Ruth's work publicising her own personal battle with mental illness is truly inspirational. She has fought through tough times and come out a stronger person wanting to speak to other people to try to stop them experiencing the same problems as her in the future.

"She has a true passion for increasing understanding of mental health both in football and wider society as well as improving access to mental health services. She truly deserves this accolade as well as many others she will undoubtedly receive in the future.
