Cambridge United have today officially unveiled the Club’s new 2018/19 Away kit, which is now available to pre-order online at cufcdirect.com and in-store!
Once again the U’s will adorn a prominently black shirt with amber shorts on their travels during the 2018/19 Sky Bet League Two season. However, this year’s away jersey pays homage to the current club crest and its connotations with the Magdalene Bridge, previously known as “The Great Bridge” located in the centre of the city between Magdalene Street and Bridge Street.
The bridge, which was built in 1823, marks the site of an important Roman era river crossing that provided all routes both long distance and local with a crossing point across the River Cam.
The bridge is represented at the top of Cambridge United’s club crest (which itself dates back to 1986), and a sublimation of this graphic has been incorporated into the front of the U’s 2018/19 away shirt.
Like this season’s home shirt, the away jersey has been manufactured by Puma and is made of lightweight polyester with moisture wicking technology. We are also pleased to carry the names of Mick George as a front of shirt and Hill as back of shirt sponsors. The Club are also excited to reveal, that commercial news regarding the first back of shorts sponsor for a number of seasons will be revealed in the near future.
The shirt will of course be worn by the U’s first team and academy age groups, as well as Cambridge United’s Women’s FC on their travels next season.
