PRICE FREEZE ON MATCH DAY CATERING AT ABBEY STADIUM FOR 2018/19

UPDATE | MATCH DAY CATERING

9 August 2018

Cambridge United are delighted to announce a price freeze on match day food and drink across the Abbey Stadium ahead of the opening home game against Notts County this Saturday.

-  Prize freeze on match day food and drink for 2018/19 season
- Additional Mobile Catering Units available again this season to provide fans with wide range of options
- Contactless/Apple/Android payment available across the stadium
- Renovation to both Premier Travel Hospitality Suite and Dion Dublin Bar

At the beginning of the 2017/18 season, the club took the decision to internalise large aspects of the Club’s match day catering and as a result reduced beer prices by an average of 10%, as well as the cost of food from the club’s own tea bars. These prices will remain at the reduced rate for the current 2018/19 season.

Cambridge United Chief Operating Officer, Henry Comfort commented: “We are delighted to be announcing the price freeze on our match day catering, which ensures supporters can get their hands on reasonably priced and good quality food and drink on match day at the Abbey Stadium.

“We recognise that our fans financially invest significant amounts in support of their football team, and it’s therefore highly important to us that our match day offering is both affordable and offers a wide range of options.

“Alongside our own tea bars, which are available in all areas of the ground, we are also pleased to confirm that the additional mobile units introduced last year will be available once again in 2018/19. These will continue to reduce the queue times, improve quality, and increase food and drink options for the Amber Army wherever they are in the ground.

“We always welcome feedback from our fans on our catering offering, so if you have any ideas or feedback you would like to give as the season goes on, feel free to e-mail me at henry.comfort@cambridge-united.co.uk."

Cambridge United have also made renovations within the Dion Dublin Bar and Premier Travel Hospitality Suite ahead of the new campaign. The Premier Travel Suite has been extended with the shutter located at the bar end of the room being moved back to provide Club Cambridge guests with additional room and comfort on a match day, as well as further bar space for those seeking to purchase drinks.

Meanwhile within the Dion Dublin Bar, two additional flat screen televisions - both equipped with Sky Sports - have been installed to ensure fans enjoying a pre and post-match drink in the bar can watch the Premier League action. Whilst bar space has been slightly reduced as a result of the shutter being moved, the club have also made arrangements for a mobile bar unit to be made available to supporters in the Dion Dublin Bar from mid-August right through the season. This will continue to allow a smooth flow of supporters who wish to purchase a drink and ease congestion around the bar on match day.

Finally, the Club wishes thank all supporters who voted in the legend’s tea bar poll last month. The winning three players from United’s past have now been selected by the Amber Army and will have their own tea bars named after them in tribute to their respective contributions. These will be revealed in the coming weeks.
