CAMBRIDGE UNITED CONFIRM FIRST PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY WITH NORWICH CITY

19 May 2017

U'S TO FACE NORWICH CITY AT THE CAMBS GLASS STADIUM

Cambridge United will welcome local East Anglian rivals Norwich City to the Cambs Glass Stadium for a pre-season friendly on Saturday 15th July, kick off 2pm.

The fixture will see the U's return to home soil for the first time ahead of the forthcoming 2017/18 Sky Bet League Two season, and pit their wits against a Norwich City outfit vying for a return to Premier League football.

Similar to the clash with the Canaries in 2015, the encounter will be prolonged for an additional 30 minutes and split into four quarters in order for U's Boss Shaun Derry and his opposite number to give their respective first team squads a full competitive run out over 120 minutes.

The game therefore not only guarantees the Amber Army the chance to get behind the new United squad including any summer signings for the first time, but also the opportunity to watch the U's take on some of the Championship side's biggest names.

The U's will also run out for the first time wearing the 2017/18 away kit, which is yet to be unveiled, and will therefore give the U's faithful their first glimpse of the new strip.

Further information regarding ticket prices and how supporters can secure a place at the fixture will be released in due course.

Meanwhile, the Amber Army are also approaching the 1,500 season ticket holder mark for the 2017/18 campaign as U's fans continue to book their places at 23 games next season.

Marvin’s 20-Game Ticket initiative, which offers primary school children the opportunity to watch 20 fixtures at the Cambs Glass Stadium free of charge is proving popular. Click here to find out more information about the most interactive way to enjoy match day next season!
