U’S TO PLAY IPSWICH TOWN IN PRE-SEASON
Cambridge United will welcome Sky Bet Championship side Ipswich Town to the Cambs Glass Stadium on Saturday 23rd July (Kick Off 3:00pm).
With the U’s already scheduled to play Aston Villa on Tuesday 26th July (Kick Off 7:30pm), Shaun Derry’s side will have the opportunity to put their pre-season preparations to the test against higher ranked opposition, when the Suffolk outfit cross the county border once more.
A late strike from Cole Skuse settled the clash between the sides last year, with both Barry Corr and Luke Berry, who notched a superb free kick, on the scoresheet for the U’s in a keenly contested 3-2 defeat.
Shaun Derry’s side were set to face Lincoln City on Saturday 23rd July, but that fixture has now been cancelled with the U’s instead going toe-to-toe with the 1977/78 FA Cup and 1980/81 UEFA Cup champions.
