Cambridge United came through their opening pre-season clash of 2016/17 with a 2-1 away win to St Neots Town ahead of the U’s tour to Holland/Germany.An own goal from the hosts gave Shaun Derry’s men a half time lead before Conor Newton scored a second half winner in the 62nd minute.
Summer signings Piero Mingoia, George Maris, Medy Elito and David Gregory all featured for the first time in amber and black, with all players coming through the fixture without injury.
