Following today’s squad number announcement, the Amber Army can now pre-order their 2016/17 home kit with the name and number of their favourite U’s star in-store, online and by calling 01223 566 500.Since being unveiled by new arrival Piero Mingoia last month, it seems the new home shirt has certainly been to the taste of many U’s fans with the number of pre-orders continuing to rise in the lead up to pre-season.
And now supporters can pre-order their shirt with the name and the official squad number of any first team player, to wear in time for the first clash at the Cambs Glass Stadium against Ipswich Town on Saturday 23rd July.
In keeping with the tradition of Cambridge United Football Club, the new home jersey will once again take on the amber and black colours synonymous with the U's, but also includes a modern twist in style with the addition of pin stripes.
As last season, Mick George will appear on the front of the shirt with Sepura on the back.
The retro black collar also refers back to a number of the U’s kits of yesteryear including the iconic jersey from the 1992-93 season.
