GALLERY:An evening with Shaun Derry

Supporters, sponsors and club partners were treated to an exclusive evening with Shaun Derry in the Premier Travel Hospitality Suite at the Abbey Stadium, for a reveal all night from the Cambridge United Manager.

Joined by Sky Sports presenter and U’s fan Max Rushden, the United boss told the tale of his playing career, which included the highlights, the lowlights and the quite simply bizarre.

From featuring in the Premier League title winning game at the Etihad Stadium against Manchester City when playing for Queens Park Rangers and the high emotion involved in that fixture, to his humble beginnings with Notts County and his early development at Sheffield United and Portsmouth, those in attendance were treated to Derry’s full journey.

Memorable stories included Julio Cesar suggesting the U’s boss buy a helicopter when at QPR, Mark Crossley’s more than eccentric party trick and Neil Warnock’s unique house, whilst the night also comprised a three course dinner and plenty of cheer with Rushden on hand to sarcastically keep supporters entertained throughout the evening.

Check out some of the images from the evening below, meanwhile an interview with Max Rushden will be available on CU Player later today!
