Cambridge United return to the Cambs Glass Stadium on tonight against Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday in the EFL Cup with tickets available online, in-store and by calling 01223 566 500.Following Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Barnet in the season opener, Shaun Derry’s side face a quick turnaround in games as they prepare to welcome the Owls in Round One of the League Cup.
As well as just missing out on a place in the Premier League last season, having been beaten in the Championship Play-off Final, the Yorkshire side have good pedigree in this competition having lifted the trophy back in 1991 after beating Manchester United at Wembley Stadium.
Meanwhile, this fixture will evoke plenty of memories of previous encounters with the Owls for U's fans, none more so than the 2nd round defeat inflicted on Danny Wilson’s side back in 1998.
The visiting side are expected to aa bring a large following of away support so Shaun Derry's men will need the backing of the Amber Army, with tickets on sale now here. Supporters can make a £2 when purchasing before 5pm.
