CAMBRIDGE UNITED ANNOUNCE STAND SPONSORSHIP

21 April 2016

U'S ANNOUNCE NEW MUNDIPHARMA COMMUNITY STAND

Cambridge United are delighted to announce Mundipharma International Limited as the new sponsors of the club's Main Stand.

The new partnership will see the Cambridge-based pharmaceutical company given full naming rights for the stand which will become the Mundipharma Community Stand, with the deal set initially to run until the end of the 2017/18 season.

Mundipharma International Limited is part of a privately owned global network of independent associated healthcare companies, including Napp Pharmaceuticals Limited and Bard Pharmaceuticals Limited in the UK, with a strong track record in bringing high quality, innovative medicines to patients.

The network has expertise in developing and launching products, both nationally and internationally and now has a presence in 52 countries with over 2,400 employees across Europe. It has expertise in research and development, regulatory affairs, patenting, market access, manufacture, sales and marketing for proprietary pharmaceuticals.  Since its founding over 60 years ago the network has become a leader in pain management and through a shared spirit of innovation, is building a growing presence in respiratory, addiction and inflammation markets.

The Mundipharma Community Stand will be a focal point for Cambridge United Community Trust engagement activities, particularly surrounding the delivery of the Trust's healthy lifestyle initiatives.

The Mundipharma Community Stand will also become a social hub for participants on our walking football programme, continue to play host to the monthly senior citizens lunches, as well as offering local charities, Abbey People and We are Ditton Fields, a welcoming environment to host events for local residents in the immediate community.

Recently, Cambridge United hosted a free lunch during the school holidays for children from Abbey Ward, who would usually receive free school dinners during term time at Abbey Meadows Primary School. Meanwhile a free food and karaoke night was also staged for residents of Ditton Fields, in conjunction with We Are Ditton Fields.

These are examples of the type of community engagement activities that with support from Mundipharma International Limited, Cambridge United will be aiming to increase through its charitable arm, the Community Trust.

Cambridge United Chief Executive Jez George commented: "This is a fantastic partnership with Mundipharma for Cambridge United and one which will help us to contribute to the local community of Cambridge, and particularly our immediate local community in Abbey Ward.

"We will work with Mundipharma to devise and implement initiatives that can promote healthy lifestyles for all cross sections of the community. We want as many people to enjoy the Mundipharma Community Stand by attending health related events throughout the year as currently use these facilities on match day."

"Mundipharma's sponsorship will make a big difference, through a range of projects, to a huge number of local people, and not just fans of Cambridge United."

Meanwhile, Antony Mattesich, Managing Director of Mundipharma International Limited commented: "The longstanding presence of Mundipharma, and its independent associated companies Napp and Bard, on the Cambridge Science Park puts us at the heart of Cambridge's thriving life sciences community.  We are very proud to be part of this community and also to partner with Cambridge United Community Trust to help improve its resident's health and wellbeing."
