RDC and Shadow Academy players collect new ERMS UK sponsored Training kit

Cambridge United officially unveiled the new 2015/16 Youth Development training kit at Saturday’s clash against Crawley Town, with over 250 children collecting their kits, which have been sponsored by local company, ERMS UK Ltd.

The children, who are all part of the club’s Regional Development Centres and Shadow Academy, arrived at the Abbey Stadium with great anticipation to collect their new training kit prior to the Football League fixture, which has been backed through a sponsorship from the Fresh Solutions company.

Based in Chatteris, ERMS provides innovative solutions as a leading specialist in the fresh produce arena. Category management and supplier of fresh produce to the UK’s retail, wholesale and food service industries, ERMS is also a dab hand at service provision, packing and warehouse storage.

The training kit, which will be worn by over 1,200 children associated with the U’s Youth Development system across the region, is predominantly black with a striking yellow stripe across the chest, whilst the ERMS logo is emblazoned on the front of the new jerseys.

ERMS UK Managing Director, Ian Smith, attended the fixture and was photographed with the children at half time, who proudly paraded their new kit to the Abbey Stadium.

Commenting on the launch of the training kit, Ian Smith said, ”As a family company with our roots well established since 1986, it’s a good feeling to be able to sponsor the Centres that create professional coaching opportunities for gifted and talented children. We’ve had a lot of pleasure sponsoring Cambridge United over the years and are delighted to be the first sponsor of the Regional Development Centres.”

Meanwhile Cambridge United Football Development Manager, James Cutting, added, “The photo taken at half time is a true depiction of our Youth Development system. The professionalism and pride that is so evident from the smiling faces really typifies what the programme is all about.

“The same professionalism is just as evident on the training pitch and the Youth Development programme is something that all participants and indeed fans of the club, should be proud of.

“Ian’s support through ERMS UK is fantastic and gives the programme real backing going into the tenth season of our prestigious youth system.”
