WYCOMBE 1-0 U'S

27 September 2014

U's defeated at Adams Park

PAUL Hayes' 100th league goal sank the U's at Adams Park this afternoon.

United had the better of the opening exchanges, with Robbie Simpson's strike blocked well before Matt Ingram made a fine save to deny Tom Elliott.

Peter Murphy forced Chris Dunn into a good stop, while Aaron Pierre headed just wide for the hosts.  Chris Dunn made an impressive stop, smothering at the feet of Sam Wood on the stroke of half-time.

HT: Wycombe 0-0 U's

The U's came close in the 48th minute, Tom Elliott broke away, cut inside, but his curled effort ended up just over Ingram's bar.

Wanderers hit the post in the 58th minute, before Hayes put the Chairboys in front, poking past Dunn after the U's had cleared the initial danger.

Hurst and Simpson both came close for United in the closing stages, however the U's were unable to find the equaliser.
