First Capital Connect to provide extra services on Sunday

First Capital Connect (FCC) is adding almost an extra 10,000 seats on services to and from London to help Cambridge United fans travelling to the Skrill Premier Promotion Final on Sunday 18 March.

Six extra trains will be running – 09.44, 10.44 and 11.46 from Cambridge and 18.40, 19.44 and 20.44 from London King’s Cross. An additional 16 services both to and from the capital will be lengthened by four carriages.  Of these services, a small number will consist of 12 carriage trains which FCC normally doesn't operate on Sundays.

Fans will also be able to take advantage of FCC’s super off-peak tickets, where a return from Cambridge to London King’s Cross is only £16 – and this can be further discounted with GroupSave where groups of three to nine people can save a third off their rail fare.

FCC Customer Service Director Keith Jipps said: “We are once again delighted to have been able to play our part by adding add extra trains and lengthening others to provide almost an extra 10,000 seats for all the Cambridge United fans travelling to and from London that day.  Our super off-peak tickets are fantastic value for those making the journey and can be discounted further with our GroupSave scheme for those travelling in groups.   We wish the club all the best and hope it is a memorable occasion.”

U's Chairman, Dave Doggett, said: “Once again we are extremely grateful to First Capital Connect for providing Cambridge United supporters with extra services and carriages for our trip to Wembley Stadium on Sunday.   We wish everyone who is travelling to the game a safe journey and an enjoyable day.”
