U's defeated at The New Lawn

CAMBRIDGE United went down 3-2 at Forest Green Rovers in the Skrill Premier this afternoon.

The U's were one down after five minutes, James Norwood firing hard and low past Will Norris.  Three minutes later the U's were level, Josh Coulson's header finding the back of the net from Ryan Donaldson's corner.

On ten minutes the U's were in front, a swift counter attack saw Liam Hughes feed Nathan Arnold who fired past Russell to put the U's 2-1 up.

United had the chance to extend their lead on 39 minutes, Sam-Yorke was felled in the are by the Rovers' stopper, however Ryan Donaldson's spot kick was comfortably saved by Russell.

Forest Green levelled matters on 43 minutes, Jared Hodgkiss heading in at the far post from Jamie Turley's cross.

Less than a minute after the restart the U's were behind, Danny Wright nodded past Norris from six yards out.  Wright came within inches of extending the hosts lead moments later, his shot ended up just over Norris' bar.

The U's came close on 55 minutes, Nathan Arnold's low ball across the box was inches away from being poked in by Ryan Bird.  Rovers' again came close through Norwood on 70 minutes, he fired low and just wide of Norris' right hand post.

Lee Hughes, Jamie Turley and James Norwood all came close for Rovers while Ryan Bird and Ryan Donaldson had chances for the U's but neither side could find the net again.
