Club Statement - Reg Smart
CAMBRIDGE United are deeply saddened to hear of the loss of former United Chairman, Reg Smart.Our thoughts are with Reg's family and friends at this sad time.
Reg served as a director on the U's board for 30 years, over two periods, taking over as Chairman in 1990.
U's Chairman, Dave Doggett, said:
"Reg was an influential Chairman and Director of our club for many years. He was a keen Cambridge United fan and followed our progress whilst living abroad in Thailand."
He continued:
"Reg will always be remembered by the fans of this club for all the years of hard work and energy he gave to us."
Cambridge United will be remembering Reg before Saturday's home game against Southport, further details will be communicated within the coming days.
