U's Team Up With Impact Sport

27 January 2014

Impact Sport will provide the U's with a range of sports nutrition products

Cambridge United have teamed up with Impact Sport to provide the U's first-team, academy and scholars with Impact’s range of sports nutrition products.

Impact Sport is a completely unique concept. There are a huge number of sports nutrition companies, the vast majority of which produce products that have no evidence based research to back up the marketing led claims they make. They use cheap ingredients and contain artificial additives that actually can be harmful to long term health (for adults, let alone youngsters). The few reputable companies that use evidence based research with their products focus their efforts on the adult market only.

There is not one single sports nutrition company that produces anything specifically for young developing athletes, until now. Impact Sport was formed to fill the gap for the definite need to offer healthy sports nutrition for young athletes giving them the specific vitamins and minerals they need that they simply wouldn't get from adult focussed products.

All of Impact Sport's products are free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives and are batch tested by HFL Sport Science meaning they are cleared by WADA (World Anti Doping Association) for consumption by elite athletes.

Impact are passionate about assisting the next generation of sporting stars in the UK and nutrition and hydration habits play a vital role in progressing athletic performance. Impact Sports currently supply teams from grassroots clubs to Premier League academies.

Impact Sport are delighted to agree a partnership with Cambridge United FC to become the clubs official sports nutrition supplier. This agreement involves Impact Sport working closely with Matt Walker and the coaches at Cambridge United to ensure that players from under 9's through to the first-team are consuming the correct products to maximise health and performance.

Cambridge United’s Head of Sports Science, Matt Walker, said:
“We have recently embarked upon a partnership with Impact Sport Science who have filled a gap within the club that we have been seeking for some time. We have always warned our players of the dangers of using sugar filled drinks for their general health and that they offer no nutritional or performance gain. Having a consistently healthy balanced diet and using an electrolyte based drink to rehydrate is far more beneficial. Impact are a highly ethical, moral company who match our values and philosophies for the nutrition of young developing athletes and have a fantastic product range. Impact currently work with a large number of professional football academies across the country, including a number in the Premier League, plus other leading junior athletes in other sports. We look forward to growing our partnership together.  The 1st team, scholars and Academy will all now benefit from this fantastic product range to benefit their recovery needs.  With Impact Sport added to our existing long term partner and supporter, Iceni Water, we really do have fantastic nutrition and hydration sources to give our players the added percentage advantages toward being the best they can be."
