U's welcome Students to the R Costings Abbey Stadium
Cambridge United are marking the start of the academic year, by inviting students to the home match against Nuneaton Town on Tuesday 24th September for a cut-price £5.
The Student Special initiative applies to seats in the R Costings Abbey Stadium’s South Stand and standing in the Habbin and North Terraces. The Skrill Conference Premier League match kicks off at 7.45 pm.
U's Chariman, Dave Doggett, said:
"We’re constantly looking at ways to welcoming new supporters to the club, This offer is an ideal way of doing that and of increasing awareness of Cambridge United among the city’s vast student population."
The Chairman continued:
"Evening matches at the Abbey have a special, exciting atmosphere, and both teams have started well this season so it will be a competitive match. There is a large student community some of whom miss their ‘fix’ while they’re away from their hometown clubs. If we can convert some of them into U’s fans, it will have been a very worthwhile exercise for us and for them."
