U's progress into second round

Cambridge United progressed into the second round of the FA Trophy after defeating Salisbury City 1-0 at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium.

Nathan Arnold scored the winner for United on 51 minutes, cutting in from the left hand side and firing home.

Arnold came closest for the U's in the first-half, his lobbed effort was saved well by Puddy in the Salisbury goal.

New additions Karl Ledsham and Josh Gillies also came close for the U's in the first period, while Jason Brown saved well from Kamdjo just before the break.

The U's took the lead after just six minutes of the second-half and Delano Sam-Yorke came close to extending the U's lead.

The hosts put United under pressure for the final twenty minutes, Kamdjo and Flitchett coming close, but the U's held on and secured their spot in Monday's second round draw.

Team: Brown, Roberts, Austin, Coulson, Bonner, Berry (Hughes 67), Spillane, Ledsham, Gillies, Sam-Yorke (Akintunde 90+4), Arnold (Taylor 89). 
Not Used: Norris, Horne.
