Directorship for Daniels

5 May 2013

New addition to club's board

Cambridge United is pleased to announce that Graham Daniels is joining the Board as a non-executive director.  Graham will combine this role with being Chair of the Youth & Community Trust, having been a trustee since its formation in 2011.

Graham’s broad range of skills will enable him to enhance the role of the club and the Trust in the community through his wide network of contacts, business acumen and experience of directing an international charitable organisation.  Graham will work closely with Club Chairman Dave Doggett and Director of Football, Jez George.  He will play a greater part in the Trust than his time has previously allowed and will combine this with working alongside Dave, in particular projects to enhance the profile of the club.

Dave Doggett said “Graham is the perfect addition to the Board. He is held in high esteem within the football and wider community. His enthusiasm and energy is infectious and I am looking forward to working with him as we demonstrate how a football club can have a positive impact in the community. It is also good news for the club that we now have a former professional footballer on the Board to complement the business expertise.”

Graham Daniels said “It's a tremendous honour to join Cambridge United. I have the very highest regard for Dave Doggett and Jez George, and I'm thrilled to have been offered the opportunity to play a part in the future development of this great club in the city that has become my family's home in the last thirty years."

Jez George expressed his delight at Graham joining the club and his enhanced role within the Trust by adding “Graham is a man of the highest calibre and integrity.  He has already helped the Trust enormously with his input as a trustee and the additional time that he will now be able to commit to the club and the Trust will help both organisations grow and develop together.  We will also put his football experience to good use within our youth scheme with Graham supporting our existing staff to help develop our young players.  He is a brilliant addition to the team.”
