Development Structure

Shadow Academy
Under 7's - Under 14's (approx. 250 players regionalised into two squads-North & South).  Train once a week in their age group and play against other professional clubs during school holidays, aiming to gain a place in the Academy
Regional Development Centres 
Under 7's -Under 16's (approx. 1000 players in 16 centres within a 50 mile radius of Cambridge).  Train once a week at their Regional Development Centre working to a syllabus based on the individual and play in internal matches during school holidays aiming to gain a place within the Shadow Squad.
Goalkeeper Centres
U7's - U16’s (approx. 125 players within 5 Centres in a 30 miles radius of Cambridge). Train once per week with a specific goalkeeper coach, working on the technical, tactical, physical and psychological aspects of goalkeeping. The young goalkeeper may be invited to play in half term Shadow Squad games or even the CUFC Academy.
Community Sport Programme
Positively affecting the lives of thousands of children of all abilities through delivering a wide range of sporting & educational opportunities in schools. This includes the highly popular Soccer Schools (Girls and Boy specific sessions), Olympic Schools and Cricket Camps, that take place every school holiday.
School Sport Programme
Delivered in conjunction with Cambridge United Community Trust, this programme takes place in over 80 primary schools across the region and includes the delivery of PE lessons and extra-curricular sports sessions. The key aim of the programme is to inspire participation in sporting activity.
