25-year old Piero established his reputation as one of the finest right-sided midfielders in League Two whilst with Accrington Stanley, prior to his summer move to the U’s. An academy player with Watford from the age of 13, he made a first-team debut during January 2013 when the Hornets faced Hartlepool in an FA Cup tie, also scoring with a fine 25-yard strike to seal the tie.
This fleet-footed winger progressed to make seven appearances at Vicarage Road, whilst also spending time on loan with Brentford, Hayes & Yeading and Boreham Wood. He eventually signed for Accrington in June 2013 following a temporary stint at the Wham Stadium. Piero helped Stanley to the Play-offs at the end of the 2015/16 campaign, netting a superb goal against AFC Wimbledon in the semi-final before opting for a new challenge this season.
He scored 15 times in 144 appearances whilst at Accrington but, having signed a two-year deal at the Cambs Glass Stadium, now looks ahead to the next stage in his career.
