Left-back Blair agreed a one-year deal with the U’s this summer, having left Notts County at the end of last season. A former Sunderland youth player, he was a regular in the Black Cats reserve side and, despite not being selected for first team duty, did enjoy productive loan spells with Brentford and Northampton, for whom he racked up a collective 31 appearances.
Blair signed for Coventry in January 2013 following another temporary stint away from the Stadium of Light, subsequently becoming a regular starter for the Sky Blues. He played 64 matches whilst with the League One club, but departed for Notts County during the summer of 2014.
The 25-year old was under the tutelage of current United boss Shaun Derry at Meadow Lane, again becoming a first-team regular. Always keen to join the attack, he had a 15-game loan spell away from the troubled Magpies last season, with Mansfield the beneficiaries.
