In response to the regular inquiries from fans and the media regarding Adam, the Club wishes to provide everyone with the following progress report.
As most fans will be aware, Adam underwent a second operation on his injured ankle at the end of May this year.
The surgery included the removal of metalwork from the original operation and also provided confirmation that the principle aims of the original surgery were successful.
Adam subsequently underwent a bio-mechanical re-assessment by the Club's podiatrist Jenny Hinton, and some modifications have been made to his orthotics.
Adam has also spent a third period of residential rehabilitation at Lilleshall sports injury centre, courtesy of the Professional Footballers Association.
Adam's recovery has gathered pace considerably since his second surgery, however his progress to fully functional status has been hampered by an on-going issue.
In an effort to resolve this problem, the expert opinion of an eminent London based foot & ankle specialist has been sought.
Following extensive investigations including a SPECT CT scan, the nature of the problem has been identified and the specialist is confident that the proposed course of treatment will prove to be successful.
The Club do not wish to place any timescales on Adam's recovery but will keep fans up-to-date with any developments whilst recognising the need for sensitivity relating to medical information.
