Seven Blue Square Premier fixtures took place during the week, and fans continue to study how it impacts the new league table that will come into being after Chester's results are expunged.
As things stand at the moment, Oxford lead Stevenage at the top by a point with a game in hand, while that lead will become four points (without the game in hand) once the league officially contains only 23 sides. Oxford's lead was cut by two points on Tuesday after they drew 1-1 in the entertaining fixture at Cambridge United.
Stevenage cut the lead after a crushing win at Eastbourne. Just three days after stunning York, Garry Wilson's side were unable to repeat the feat and fell to a 6-0 home defeat. Mitchell Cole struck an eight minute hattrick as four goals were scored in the final twenty minutes.
Gateshead remain in difficulty after falling 1-0 at Tamworth, who eased their own concerns about poor form. The three other fixtures on Tuesday ended as draws. Playoff challengers Mansfield and Luton cancelled each other out at Field Mill with a goalless draw, while Kidderminster's hopes took a blow as they could only draw 2-2 at home to Ebbsfleet.
Matt Tubbs scored twice as Salisbury and Crawley shared a 2-2 draw. One fixture took place on Wednesday as Rushden and Diamonds won at Histon despite playing fifty minutes with ten men. Lee Tomlin's early goal was enough to keep them in fourth place.
In addition to league action, one FA Trophy fixture took place, and Phil Bolland was on the scoresheet as Barrow beat last year's finalists York 2-1 at Holker Street to set up a Semi Final clash with Salisbury.
