Saturday saw only five Blue Square Premier fixtures take place due to the FA Trophy reaching its Quarter Final stages and Chester's fixtures continuing to be postponed.
With the three title challengers all in Trophy action, attentions in the league focussed on the relegation battle. Ebbsfleet United were the big winners of the day, coming away from their long trip to Gateshead with a 3-1 win. Gateshead are out of the bottom four only on goal difference, although clubs are facing a rearranged league table if Chester's results are expunged on Friday.
Forest Green and Cambridge United shared a 1-1 draw that does neither side a great favour, and Eastbourne struck with a late equalising penalty to draw 2-2 with Altrincham and maintain their slim advantage on the bottom four.
Elsewhere in the league, Wimbledon produced an impressive 2-1 win at Luton to climb to within three points of their opponents and only two points of the playoffs. Wrexham saw off Crawley 2-0, a result that leaves both sides well off the top five.
Three Trophy fixtures took place, but York's trip to Barrow fell foul of the weather, as too has Tuesday night's replay. Salisbury City await the winners after their excellent run continued with a 2-1 win at home to Tamworth.
The other Semi Final is a rematch of the first Trophy Final to be played at the new Wembley. Stacy Long struck twice, including an injury time winner, as holders Stevenage came from behind to beat Conference North Workington 2-1. Kidderminster won by the same score, surprising league leaders Oxford at The Kassam thanks to Rob Matthews' winner six minutes from the end.
Five league fixtures take place on Tuesday night ahead of another on Wednesday, while a full set of fixtures is currently scheduled for Saturday.
