The Bank Holiday double header of Blue Square Premier action was completed on Monday as all twenty-four sides in the division were in action. In the era of televised non-league football, this was the first instance all season in which all of the teams played on the same day.

The twelve matches did not bring the flurry of goals that have been witnessed in recent weeks, as less than 2.5 goals were scored per game in the division.

Salisbury City find themselves at the top of the non-league pyramid after an excellent run of form has seen them win four matches in a row. They followed up Saturday's 1-0 win against Grays by repeating the scoreline in upsetting Torquay United.

An injury time goal from Charlie Griffin secured the points away from home, to see The Citadels take top spot on goal difference. They climb above Cambridge United and Weymouth, who both fell to their first losses of the campaign ahead of Saturday's fixture in which they face each other.

Weymouth fell to a crushing 4-1 defeat at the hands of Forest Green, Adrian Rigoglioso insiring the hosts to victory with a brace. Jim Harvey's men have now won three consecutive matches as they climb up the division, while Weymouth slip from their elevated position of second.

Cambridge United's loss came in their fifth game of the season, ensuring that there will be no repeat of last season's club record twelve matches unbeaten from the start of the season. Kettering Town ran out 2-0 winners thanks to a Craig Westcarr fluke and Ben Farrell's controversial sending off and remain unbeaten after 1-1 draws in each of their opening four fixtures.

Mansfield Town recovered from their loss at Barrow by seeing off Northwich Victoria in a thrilling 3-2 victory. The Vics looked to have secured their third point of the season after Lee Steele equalised inside the last five minutes, only for Mark Stallard to net his third goal of the season to earn the points for the hosts.

Histon recorded back to back wins over the weekend, beating Rushden and Diamonds 2-1 following their win over Burton on Saturday. A half time battle saw four players booked and Lee Tomlin sent off for Rushden, and Curtis Woodhouse was also dismissed soon after the interval.

Histon's numerical advantage proved crucial as goals from Antonio Murray and Jack Midson ensured The Stutes have put a stuttering start to the season being them.

A tickertape welcome for the United players at Histon

The only other side to win on Saturday came in the form of Eastbourne Borough, who won their second away match of the season at Grays Athletic. Like Salisbury, their away win came by virtue of an injury time goal. Matt Smart was the goalscoring hero as Grays, many people's tip for a playoff spot, fell to a third defeat in five matches. Grays incredibly missed their third penalty of the season already, as Stuart Thurgood's effort was saved after ten minutes.

In the absence of many goals during the afternoon, the remaining six fixtures all ended up being drawn. Wrexham dropped points for the third time after being held to a 1-1 draw at Altrincham in the lunchtime fixture. Jefferson Louis scored in the second game in a row but it wasn't enough as The Robins recovered from Saturday's thrashing at Kidderminster.

Woking picked up their first point of the season and kept a clean sheet at the same time, their match away at Oxford United ending 0-0. The U's only have four points themselves and will be looking for immediate improvement as pressure grows on manager Darren Patterson.

There was another scoreless draw between Lewes and Ebbsfleet United. The hosts doubled their points tally for the campaign in what looks set to be a season of struggle. Even away from home, even Ebbsfleet may be somewhat disappointed not to have built on three wins from their opening four outings.

York City remain unbeaten by have drawn three matches in succession, their home game with Barrow ending 1-1. Both goals were scored in the opening ten minutes, and Barrow themselves have only lost one of their five matches, at Cambridge United.

York City

Burton Albion and Kidderminster Harriers shared a point each by netting twice each at The Pirelli Stadium. Burton twice led before being denied the points, although Greg Pearson did find the net for the fourth time in five matches.

The final match of the afternoon saw promotion favourites Stevenage Borough give out a warning to their rivals, finally managing to not lose a match. A 1-1 draw at home to Crawley Town leaves them without a win so far and only two points to show for their efforts, and Graham Westley's side sit ten points off leading Salisbury. Crawley's point came as a result of Glenn Wilson's equaliser, and The Red Devils currently have seven points of their own.

Blue Square Premier action returns at the weekend, with observers of the division likely to be pleading for a higher number of goals being scored, while fans of the sides involved will be hoping for results as the first block of six matches draws to a close.
