Cambridge Fans United are delighted to announce that they will be CRC's home match day sponsor for the 2007/08 season.

The supporters trust have paid £2,500 to sponsor CRC, the team made up of scholars from the Cambridge United youth scheme that play in the Ridgeons League Premier Division.

Dave Matthew-Jones, CFU Chairman, said, "CFU want to help Cambridge United build for the future, and what better way to do this than by supporting the club's young players."

Head of Youth Development Jez George commented, "Although the team are called CRC, we are very much part of Cambridge United. The players are proud to represent the club and we are grateful to have CFU's support for the coming season."

As part of the sponsorship package CFU members will receive half price admittance to CRC games, while Junior U's can watch the scholars free of charge.

Fans Director Brian Attmore, who is also a Director of Cambridge United Youth Development, said, "The team, playing as CRC, is vital to the future of Cambridge United. This season we have three products of the youth system - Jordan Collins, Michael Hyem and Josh Coulson - who we are delighted to have in the first team squad.

"Their development has undoubtedly been greatly assisted by their experiences playing for CRC in the Ridgeon's League Premier Division."

The scholars 2006-07

Last season CRC won seven of their last 12 games to climb away from the relegation zone and finished in a respectable 17th place in the Ridgeons League Premier Division. The scholars also enjoyed a good run in the FA Youth Cup, beating league sides Tranmere and Crewe before eventually succumbing to Cardiff City in the fourth round.

Jez George added, "We ended the last campaign very strongly and I would urge any United fans who don't travel away with the first team to get down to the Abbey this season and help us maintain this good form."
