Released by Liverpool soon after winning the FA Youth Cup in 1996 alongside Michael Owen and Jamie Carragher, 'Parky' signed for Tranmere where he spent seven years and featured in their cup runs of 2000 and 2001.

After 164 league appearances and 18 goals he joined Sheffield United in 2003 on a free transfer but was unable to break into the first team on a regular basis and had two loan spells with Notts County. A year later he moved to Grimsby Town, where he spent two seasons, scoring 12 league goals in 85 appearances, and was a losing finalist in the 2006 League Two play-offs.

In June 2006 he signed for League Two side Notts County where he spent two seasons and scored another five goals in 68 appearances, before being released at the end of last season.

Primarily a winger who delivers accurate balls into the box, 'Parky' began last season by setting up the first goal of the new campaign but two days later ruptured an Anterior Cruciate Ligament in training. Hard work and determination saw him return in March, and on his third appearance from the bench he scored his first goal in the 4-1 win at home to Northwich, and reached double figures for appearances.
