Joining the club on a short-term deal towards the end of the 2009/10 season, in which he saved penalties against both Histon and Altrincham, veteran Simon penned a two year deal shortly afterwards.
Starting as an apprentice at Tottenham, the Chelmsford born stopper made over 140 appearances for Colchester from 1999 before representing Hibs in the SPL. Prior to making 32 appearances last season he enjoyed spells at Brentford, Darlington and Northampton, from where Martin Ling brought him to the R Costings Abbey.
