With another season behind us, I thought you might be interested to know just how busy the club website was during last season:

" The site was visited over 1.6 million times (compared to 1.2 million in 2007/08)
" Over 7.2 million pages have been viewed (5.8 million in 2007/08)
" On average there are over 4,300 visits per day (3,200 in 2007/08)
" The average visitor reads 4.5 pages per visit
" The average visit lasts almost 6 minutes
" 68% of our readers visit at least once per day

So despite our continuing status in the Football Conference, it has been an even busier year at www.cambridgeunited.com. The upward trend carries on from season to season and our club website continues to perform better than many bigger clubs in the divisions above, both in terms of readership and income.

In addition, I am delighted to report that our website came top in a recent report from FLi (Football League Interactive), which is the network of over 80 official club websites.

Throughout the whole of the network, which also includes six Premiership clubs, Cambridge United's website gets the most page views per visitor! We achieve 13.5 page impressions per unique visitor against the current FLi average of 9.5, so do keep following those links around the website as every click makes money for our club as well as keeping you informed!

As you will know from previous seasons, the website doesn't grind to a halt when the season ends and there is plenty to read throughout the close season.

The summer months are always newsworthy as the manager makes decisions about the squad and signs new players, so there will be news in the next few weeks and you won't want to be too far from the website or your mobile phone.

As soon as there is any definite news, subscribers will be alerted by the club's exclusive SMS service, even before the details appear on the club website. See the website's 'Mobile Zone' for details of the SMS service - just 25p/text.

We will also be announcing details of the new fixture list first at cambridgeunited.com, and there will be the usual regular interviews and updates from behind the scenes as we prepare for next season. Why not make cambridgeunited.com your homepage? Then you'll see the latest news every time you log on, and you'll get the breaking news from the club before anywhere else.

The summer is also the time of year when I try to make any changes or additions to the website. There are already some improvements planned, and if there's anything you would like to see included on the site please let me know now.

And if you are interested in contributing articles or helping with match reports, do get in touch. You can e-mail me at web@cambridge-united.co.uk with ideas or suggestions.

As ever, my sincere thanks to those contributors who help to keep the website topical and relevant:

Andrew Bennett for his 'alternative' match reports, Mark Johnson for 'Traveller's Tales', Gordon McMillan for action photos from every match, Doug Shulman and Matt Gooding for their 'The Other Side' previews for each game, Matt Ramsay for his regular round-up of news and results from around the division, Henry Milward for the 'Away Travel' information for each away game, and David Gray for his regular interviews with opposition managers after matches.

Thanks for your support, have a great summer, and keep making your clicks count at www.cambridgeunited.com!
