Chairman Lee Power praised United's players for the spirit they showed in Saturday's game at Crawley.
United were ahead until stoppage time, when former United striker Marcus Richardson struck to take a share of the points for his team.
The result left United one place above the relegation zone with seven games remaining and having played more games than the four clubs below, but Power waved away talk of manager Jimmy Quinn being under pressure.
"We had seven great results and two terrible ones and I think today the lads have shown a lot of fight," Power commented.
"I suppose if you're a Crawley supporter you'll say it's a fair result, and after holding on for so long it's so disappointing for us, but Jim's under no pressure.
"The whole club - the supporters, everyone - feels the pressure, but no one should be under any pressure. We've got every confidence in Jim and to be fair I think his season started in January when he could bring his own players in."
After a run of seven games without loss, 5-0 defeats to Altrincham and York City left United needing at least three if not four wins from their last eight games to ensure Conference survival, and Saturday's game looked like being the first of those wins until Richardson's 91st minute sickener.
However Power remained positive after the game: "That's now two defeats in the last ten matches, so if you look at it in that respect it's ten games since he brought his players in and we've had a seven game unbeaten spell, we're unbeaten today, and obviously had two terrible results last week.
"I think anyone who was here today saw that the team got clapped off. Obviously we're all disappointed that we conceded so late on but if they show that type of spirit and fight then I'm sure we're going to be fine," concluded the Chairman.
