Post-match thoughts from the York City camp.
After seeing his men defeat United with a comfortable 5-0 scoreline, Minstermen manager Billy McEwan commented, "It was a good performance with excellent goals and some of the stuff we played tonight was superb. And although the finishes were clinical I did feel we could've had more goals if we wanted to.
"I've once missed out on promotion due to goal difference as a player and I don't want that to happen to my players, and they know that.
"When the players saw the quality of the pitch here they were delighted, and we've shown tonight what we are capable of if we play on a good surface. As well as the quality in our link up play and the way we created chances I felt defensively we were assured.
"Cambridge rely mainly on the threat of Simpson up front and I felt we nullified his threat and, as was shown at Altrincham last week, when Cambridge don't have that outlet they won't cause you any problems."

He concluded, "I'm pleased for the fans who have made a long trip down here on a mid-week night, I'm pleased for my players who worked their socks off out there, and I'm pleased for the board who have backed us to the hilt. We now must push on and deliver at the end of the season for all of them."
