Chairman Lee Power has been trying to help Jimmy Quinn improve the squad this month, but he has also warned that the current run of results needs to change quickly.
Supporters were heard to chant "Quinn out" during last night's defeat at Rushden & Diamonds - United's sixth straight Conference defeat and the seventh including the FA Trophy defeat at Histon on December 16th - and Power confirmed that he and the manager had a long talk after the game.
"I left the game late last night after having a long conversation with Jimmy about how we move forward, and I've been on the phone again this morning trying to help him get some people in who will improve the team," Power told cambridgeunited.com
"We're obviously very upset and disappointed with the results and the performances, but all the time Jimmy is manager we're 100% behind him.
"We've been trying to find him players and Jimmy and I have spent the last few weeks scouring the place trying to get the players in, but Jimmy's also aware that we haven't won in seven matches and I'm very unhappy and very concerned.
"Jimmy is the manager, he will be the manager on Saturday, and with the position we're in at the moment we have to take it a game at a time.
"As Jimmy himself would say, football is all about results and they need to change very quickly."
