Lee Power believes the supporters can play a huge part in the next two vital games as United seek their first win of the season.

The Chairman is in temporary charge of first team affairs, assisted by friend and former U's manager Chris Turner, and he commented today, "I have been astounded at the level of passion and commitment the fans demonstrate here.

"I have been involved with many football clubs and seen supporters all over the country, but the scene that greeted me at St Albans a couple of weeks ago was amazing and quite honestly these fans deserve to be given something to sing about.

"Myself and Chris Turner worked hard with the players on Monday and outlined our expectations of them, and - and make no bones about it - the next two games against Forest Green and Kidderminster Harriers are already massive games for us," he stressed.

United travel to Gloucestershire for Saturday's game against fellow strugglers Forest Green Rovers (above) and Power commented, "I understand that we took 550 supporters to Forest Green last year for the first game of the season, and getting anywhere near that support on Saturday would be phenomenal.

"I appreciate it's quite a long way down there and can be costly, but I'd ask any U's fan that can get there to do so and get behind the team. We have provisionally booked another coach and to thank the fans for their support so far this season both myself personally, and the club, are going to cover some of the cost of the coaches."

The prices of the Away Travel coaches have been slashed from £19 for members to £7.50, and for non members from £21 down to £9.50.

Commercial Manager Heather Wilkanowski added, "We have an excellent relationship with C&G Coaches who have provided the away travel coaches for many years and they have very kindly sponsored part of the additional coach for us, so I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their support."

To book a place on the Away Travel coaches please telephone 01223 566500. The coaches will leave Ely at 8.15am and the Abbey Stadium at 9.00am.

Tickets for the Kidderminster Harriers game on Tuesday 12th September are on sale in the ticket office now. Telephone 01223 566500 to purchase seat tickets in advance.
