Getting Shirty

The 2005/06 squad in the home kit

Rob Newman believes the arrival of the new home and away strips have heightened the sense of expectation ahead of the new season.

As previously reported here, the process of administration delayed the ordering process but kit suppliers Sporta pulled out all the stops to ensure that we would have sufficient playing kit for the start of the season and the players pulled on the new strips for the first time on Wednesday afternoon.

The new strips met with approval from the playing staff and Rob Newman told cambridgeunited.com, "I think they're really nice designs.

"I've always thought the photoshoot marks the start of a new season so it was quite exciting and now we're really looking forward to Saturday."

He added that the shirts are ones that the players will be proud to wear - "if selected!"
