Red Card Appeal Successful

Posted on: Wed 01 Sep 2010

Cambridge United's appeal to the FA regarding James Jennings red card at Mansfield Town last Saturday has been successful.

Jennings was dismissed in the 60th minute following the award of a penalty for deliberate handball by referee D Bond.

Martin Ling told cambridgeunited.com, "The decision has proven we were right to appeal and it's pleasing he'll now be available for selection next Saturday against Gateshead."

Martin went on, "The disappointing thing is that the decision cost us the game (at Mansfield) but they had a good shout for a penalty turned down in the first half and these things tend to even themselves out."
