CFU Look To The Future

Posted on: Tue 10 Aug 2010

Cambridge Fans United and Cambridge United Youth Development are pleased to announce that the supporters trust has agreed to sponsor CRC's home matches this season.

CFU Vice Chair Robert Osbourn commented, "This partnership is really important for the future of Cambridge United. The scheme has produced a succession of players who make the grade for the first team in recent years and there are many more with the potential to do the same, given the right financial and practical support. We are keen to see CRC succeed, both on and off the pitch during the coming season, and we hope the partnership will last well into the future."

CFU Chair Dave Matthew-Jones added, "We have sponsored CRC in the past and we are pleased to be doing so again. We would like to encourage as many supporters of Cambridge United and CFU members to follow CRC whenever possible. The scheme is a blueprint that will benefit Cambridge United and show the way for other clubs, too. It would be great if in ten or twenty years time we were compared with the development scheme at Ajax and we are equally successful. "

Director of Football Jez George commented, "We made a loss last season on staging matches, so this is a massive help to us and hugely appreciated that CFU have become our sponsors to help sustain this vital development pathway for the young players at Cambridge United."

Jez went on, "We see this as a perfect fit, because both CFU and the Youth Development scheme are fully committed to the long term future and sustainable success of Cambridge United."
