Director of Football Jez George is embarking on a 410 mile trek over 19 days. The Walk commences just two weeks from today, on Wednesday 21 April. Jez's aim is to raise funds for Cambridge United Youth Development, plus highlight the plight clubs outside the Football League face with regards to youth funding policy.
The Club is delighted to announce the main sponsors for the Walk as Terry and Val Baker, Eddie and Ruth Clark of EJ & RE Clark Transport and Simon Allen of CNet.
Former Chairman Terry Baker has generously committed to being a headline sponsor for the Walk, but has also requested all advertising be in the name of the Tearfund.

Jez George said "We are really grateful to have the generous support of all our sponsors. Everyone that has committed money has been a huge help towards us reaching our target and we are going in the right direction with the help of every sponsor we have so far.
"Our aim isn't just to raise funds for Youth Development - we also need to highlight why it is we have to raise the funds ourselves. We have joined forces with five other affected Conference clubs to form a group called Protecting Football's Future. We think it's wrong all funding and protection is dictated by the status of the first team rather than the quality and output of each youth scheme. We are campaigning for not only our six clubs but to create an opportunity for any full time professional club outside the Football League that meets Governing Body Qualitative Criteria, to have access to funding should be available and player registration should be protected.
"Thanks must also go to Renford and Simon at Premier Travel who have kindly spent their time creating all posters and various literatures for the Walk and the PFF alike."
To mark the end of the Walk the R Costings Abbey Stadium will be playing host to an 'all-star' game featuring guest appearances from Cambridge United's near and distant past, plus Martin Ling will be unveiling his 2010/11 squad. Tickets are on sale now from the Ticket Office. For information on advertising, sponsorship and hospitality packages please email youth.development@cambridge-united.co.uk or telephone the Club on 01223 566500.
